You usually do not need to purchase the extra car insurance because your car insurance company should cover you while driving the rental car. When you rent a car through the rental car company’s website you usually don’t have to enter your credit card information. You can cancel your reservations at any time. Just double check before you cancel.
Join the rental car company’s club. This is great because they usually have an express line if you are a member. This is great when there is a line! The memberships are usually free and sometimes they earn you some kind of rewards.
We have rented several cars and have never received the car we have reserved. We have always received a better car.
Check the car for scratches and any other problems. Report them so you will not be liable.
Make sure you know where to drop off the car when you are done. You can rent cars at one destination and drop it off at a different location.
