Flash Back Friday – Yorkshire Pudding

yourkshire pudding

One of my favorite things to eat with Roast Beef, mashed potatoes, and gravy is Yorkshire Pudding (aka Pop Overs). This is the perfect side item to soak up all that gravy while you are cleaning off your plate. My family is from Scotland, so this is a recipe that has been in my family for a very long time.

Im sure it’s great with other meals with gravy but I especially love it with roast beef. They are light and fluffy with a little crunch. They are hollow inside so my kids like to add their mashed potatoes inside to eat.

Yorkshire Pudding

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425.
  2. Heavily grease a cup cake tin.
  3. Combine ingredients and pour in muffin tin – about 2/3 full.
  4. Bake at 425 for 15 minutes then lower the temp to 350 for additional 15 minutes.
  5. Try not to open the oven while cooking because they will sink.

Makes 12 Yorkshire Puddins.

Sometimes they stick to the pan so be careful when you remove them from the pan.

Have you ever had these before? Are you going to try them?
