Extending The Life Of Your Store Bought Herbs

Sharing is caring!

I like to cook with fresh herbs. They add a lot more flavor to my recipes. Right now in my garden I have basil and I think it was the missing ingredient in my spaghetti sauce all these years! I need to add some more herds to my garden – but in the meantime I have to buy them from the grocery store.

This is another “duh” tip. I just can’t believe it too me so long to actually do it. When you buy your herbs stick them in a cup of water and put them in your kitchen window or outside. You may even have to add more water to the cups in a few days.

I have been using the cilantro and parsley above for 2 weeks! It’s not like the fresh herbs are expensive, it’s just a pain to run to the store if you need them. When you do this – you already have them!

I really like the plastic “party” sized cups for my herbs. They seem just deep and wide enough for the herbs.

So do you have any “duh” tips to share with us?
