Our dad is our biggest influence when it comes to the kind of life we plan of having. We have so much to thank him for and one of the best ways to make your father special is to shower him with gifts and affection. Designer cologne, car accessories – what’s not to love? On June 15, the world will be celebrating Father’s Day so we’re showing you 4 ways  to make his day extra special.

1. Get him the usual wrapped gifts. For the conventional celebration, shower your dad with gifts he would enjoy having. A new shirt, his favorite cologne, or maybe a new pair of golf shoes to help him improve on his hobby. Everyone likes opening a wrapped or boxed gift because of the element of surprise. This gesture also gains bonus points when you’re not around on Father’s Day to celebrate. If you’re far away from home, better check out Beauty Encounter’s gift guide for wrapped presents and shipping details. You can pick a special gift wrapped for dad and get discounts on men’s colognes, bath accessories and grooming essentials.

2. Clean his car or have it fixed. When the old man gets a bit old and gray, he usually pays attention to his favorite toy – his car. Cleaning it here and there or adding some enhancements can be his current thing. Before he wakes up in the morning, give his beloved automobile a sponge bath. Scrub the tires, wipe the windshield, and make the entire body sparkly. You can even add some useful accessories inside like a car mat, hook for headset and groceries, cup holders, or a baby car seat for when his grandchildren visits. But if you’re the generous one, a portable GPS would be the best.

3. Treat dad to an NBA game. Given he’s a fan of basketball he’s going to have the time of his life watching a live NBA game. Is he a Pacers fan? Heat perhaps? The game will be extra awesome if aside from tickets with a splendid view of the game, buy him some team memorabilia (a shirt, cap or jacket). This is probably the perfect time when he can have as much popcorn, pizza, or hotdog as he wants without mom having to limit his food intake or remind him about his blood sugar, cholesterol, etc.

4. Surprise him with a fishing or camping trip. We all know that men are born to be nature lovers. If Dad has a free time on Father’s Day, prepare his fishing kit and camping gears for a nature trip. Remember, your dad was born in a generation where he likes to play outside and figure things out on his own without any help from this generation’s technology. He would enjoy a fresh catch he’s cleaned and cooked himself for his whole family to enjoy. In addition to that, he’ll feel very much the man of the family when puts everyone to bed during camping at night.
