My Summer Vacation

Sharing is caring!

Rays Family

How’s your summer vacation going? Mine has been a blast so far. I have been having so much fun hanging out with my family. You have probably noticed that I haven’t posted many recipes lately. That’s because I have hardly been cooking. I have a really big family so we have been having dinner with them a lot that I haven’t had time to bake or cook. I am really missing my desserts!

My husband can work just about anywhere in the world – so it makes it easier for us to spend weeks at a time visiting family. We have been in Florida for about 4 weeks doing so many fun things. We are staying with my sister. She also has 3 kids, so my kids are having a blast playing all day with their cousins.

Clearwater

Florida is a beautiful place to live an visit. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw some of my pictures from our visit to Clearwater Beach. The sand is like powder and it’s so relaxing.

One of the best places we have been to so far is Buccaneer Bay. It is part of Weeki Wachee State Park. It is a 2 park attractions. Once side is a water park with a swimming area, water slides, and a lazy river. I really love it because the water is always 72 degrees! Very refreshing on a summer day in Florida. On the other side is a mermaid show and a boat ride. It’s just $13 for adults and $8 for kids ages 6 and up. It’s a very affordable day for the family. (You can bring in your own food and drinks!)

rays

We were able to go to a Tampa Bay Rays game with our kids. We watch every game with our kids on TV, so they were very excited to be able to attend a game together. We went early and we were able to get signatures from Yunel Escobar,  Jake Odorizzi, Brad Boxberger and Kevin Kiermaier. They have so many cool activities for the kids! There is an area for them to pet sting rays! After the game we were able to run around the bases and hang out in the outfield for a kid’s party. They do an awesome job making it a lot of fun for your kids.

Next we want to visit Busch Gardens. I have passes from City Pass to visit Busch Gardens. This is such a great way to save money for locals and tourists. They just launched in Tampa and I am excited to have a chance to use it. For just $119 an adult can visit Busch Gardens, The Florida Aquarium, Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, and Museum of Science & Industry. This is a huge savings if you want to visit these amazing attractions!

Earlier this month we visited family in Orlando. It was a fun day that included a trip to Downtown Disney and eating dinner at Rain Forest Cafe. My kids love to visit the Lego store. They are making a lot of changes to Downtown Disney – but there are still so many things to do!

swim

We just love spending time in the pool. Growing up we always had a pool. We would swim just about all year round. So it’s is really nice that my kids can enjoy a little time in the pool.

What have you been up to this summer?
