Our family has a love/hate relationship with back to school shopping. I love to shop but my kids hate it. This year Macy’s made it a lot more exciting with a party with Radio Disney! They left the mall very happy with all their “loot” and lots of great new clothes. I was happy they had so much fun and I didn’t spend a fortune!
Macy’s and Radio Disney designed an event that made back to school shopping fun for our whole family. We went to the event last Saturday at the Citrus Park Mall in Tampa, Florida. It was fun for the kids and the adults in our family. Even my husband didn’t absolutely hate our time at the mall.
When we got to the event, there was a lot of activity. A live DJ was keeping the crowd entertained with a Karaoke-like game to Disney songs. My daughter participated. Actually, she made me participate since she’s only four and gets stage fright. It was a lot of fun to listen to the song and sing the next line when the DJ stopped the music. Because she participated in the Karaoke, she was able to pick out 4 back to school items. She was very excited to pick out glue.
We also had a chance to get balloon “animals” from a really talented balloon artist. He made a laser blaster for one of my sons that impressed everyone we saw in the mall that day. He also made an excellent princess tiara for my daughter, and a ninja sword for my other son. The kids were really excited to see the creations.
There was also face painting, coloring sheets, and music. This, on top of Macy’s incredible back to school sales, made it a great afternoon for our whole family. We have so much fun hanging out during the summer that we are so sad to see it end.
This party may be over but you can still check out Macy’s Back to School Guide! #MacysBTS
