For as long as I can remember, I have had to use glasses. But during middle and high school, I didn’t think that I needed them. It was a bad choice because I am sure there was so many things I missed in school because I couldn’t see what the teacher was writing on the board. I could have learned so much more and received a much better education if I wasn’t too cool for glasses. I may have received better grades and had a greater desire to learn if I was able to see what was being taught!

Now that I am a Mom, I want to make sure that my kids don’t miss out on anything. I want them to see the world clearly. I want them to be able to see what is being taught to them and I want them to be able to play sports. That is why getting an eye exam is so important to me. Invest in your vision and anything is possible.

I have always had the benefit of getting eye exams and having access to glasses, but there are many children that don’t have access to these benefits. Did you know… that 1 in 4 children have an undetected vision problem. By the time a child is 5 years old they should have had 3 eye exams – and  76% of children are not getting their necessary eye exams.  By having eye exams while your child is young, it is easier to correct visual problems and they don’t become permanent!

VSP is helping to make sure that children are getting eye exams! They have launched #EyeGiveBackNow through June 30, 2015, when  a VSP Direct™ ™ individual vision insurance plan is purchased through VSPDirect.com/EyeGiveBack, VSP will donate an eye exam and glasses to a child in need – up to a retail value of $1 million.  Learn more at VSPDirect.com/EyeGiveBack.

Sign up for VSP and you will be getting the care you need for your eyes and you will be helping to make sure more children are getting eye exams and glasses!

I had no idea that one in four children have undetected vision problems. That is a sad stat but I am glad there is help available to those that need it.

This is just amazing. Vision insurance is such a great idea as at least 1 or 2 of us in a family, tend to have poor sight these days. I think this will make a huge difference for kids in particular.

We already have vision insurance, but I'm definitely going to share this with a few people who I know don't. Especially since it helps benefit children that need glasses.

So far I am the only one in the house that needs glasses. I love giving my old frames away.

Each member of our family wears glasses and it gets pricey. We understand the importance of the insurance.
