I love to spend time in the kitchen but sometimes I run out of ideas. Or I have a few extra ingredients in the house I would love to use. I have found so many great recipes online. Food Lion has a recipe portal that offers many great recipes. Plus you can upload your own recipes to their website to share.

The Food Lion recipe portal has really great search options. If I take chicken out for dinner, I can just search for chicken recipes. You can also pick beef, pork, or salmon. You can even search for quick recipes. This is really going to help when my kids are back to school and I am working.

This is a really great resource for when I do my meal planning. I usually have some meat in the house that I would like to use.  I can do a search and create my meal plan based on the recipes I find. That way I only need to purchase a few items to make the recipe.

They have other ways you can search for recipes like which meal: breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack. You can search for regional recipes – would you like to try a Greek or Chinese recipe? Or you can search by ingredient. Right now I have about 3 pounds of bacon on my refrigerator and I can find different recipes that contain bacon. The possibilities are endless!

I have a recipe for a really moist and delicious Sour Cream Coffee Crumb Cake. I just can’t get enough of it, so I thought it would be the perfect recipe to share online. It was so easy to list the ingredients, add the instructions, and I could also add any images I had of the recipe.

Here’s a peek at my Moist Sour Cream Coffee Cake Recipe, but if you want the full recipe you need to visit the Food Lion Recipe Portal.

Sour Cream Coffee Cake

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Cup butter, softened
  • 2 Cups white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 3/4 Cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350* and grease a 9×13 pan and set aside.
  2. Cream 1 cup of butter and sugar until blended.
  3. Then add the eggs, sour cream and vanilla for about 30 seconds until blended.
  4. In the same bowl add 2 cups of flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix on low until combined and then increase the speed to mix until combined well and set aside.
  5. To make the crumb filling – In a small bowl mix the melted butter, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. The mixture will be a little crumbly.
  6. Take half of the cake batter and pour it into the 9×13. Top with half of the crumb filling. Then add the rest of the batter and top with the remaining crumb mixture.
  7. Bake for about 40 minutes. Check your cake at around 35 minutes because all ovens can vary in temperature. If you need to bake it longer, add 5 minutes at a time. The cake will be a light golden brown when it is cooked.
