After a long week of getting up early, working, and after school activities, I really look forward to Friday nights. We usually have a family movie night. We will have something fun for dinner and find a movie we can all watch together. We all snuggle up on our couch. It’s much needed time together after our crazy week!

Eating on the couch is always an option on Family Movie Night. But it can get messy. I have created a fun snack box that keeps the food off the couch but lets us all enjoy dinner in front of out TV. This week we had State Fair Mini Corndogs, popcorn, dessert, and a drink. I even had little condiment holders for ketchup and mustard.
How to make your Family Movie Night Snack Box:
- Shoe box – you can get plastic ones at Walmart that work great!
- tissue paper
- State Fair Mini Corndogs
- Condiment cups for ketchup and mustard
- juice box
- Peanut butter pudding cups (recipe below)
Place the paper inside the shoebox and add all the food. Make sure you include a napkin and a plastic spoon to enjoy your dessert. Once everyone is finished with their food it can stay in the box and put aside until the movie is over. It’s an easy mess to clean up.
Peanut butter and chocolate is always a great combination for dessert. This works well because it is served in a cup and it’s hard to spill it. You can prepare it ahead of time.
Peanut Butter Pudding Cups
- 10 – clear punch cups
- Whipped topping
- cookies – 10 – 12
- chocolate pudding ( large box)
- 3 cups of milk
Peanut butter filling:
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 (8oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
- 8-ounce package whipped topping, thawed
Crush up your favorite cookie to crumbs. We like a vanilla cookie with a chocolate filling but you can really use anything you have at your house.
Mix the pudding powder and milk and set aside.
In a new bowl combine the peanut butter and cream cheese using an electric mixer. Mix until completely blended. Slowly add the powdered sugar until completely combined. Add the whipped topping and mix until fluffy. Set aside.
Assemble your Peanut Butter Pudding Cups: Sprinkle about 1 Tablespoon of the cookie crumbs, a heaping tablespoon of pudding, then an even bigger scoop of peanut butter filling, and another heaping tablespoon of chocolate pudding. Sprinkle a little more cookie crumbs on top. Wait to top it with extra whipped topping until you are ready to serve. You can cover and refrigerate or serve immediately in your family snack box.
So make plans to head to Walmart and pick up all the ingredients for your Family Movie Night. (I even made you a shopping list.) With State Fair Mini Corndogs on Friday night and Jimmy Dean Sausage, Egg & Cheese Croissant Sandwiches, meal time is easier and you can spend time together watching a movie with your family.
