I have been a member of Ebates and Shop at Home for a while. I always check and see if I can earn a percentage back from them before I place my order. (Well sometimes I forget.) Many times they offer about the same cash back amount. Sometimes they offer double cash back, so it’s always good to check out both sites. You generally get paid every 3 months. It’s always nice to get a cash back bonus when you are least expecting it.
How they work: (They are both very similar.)
Ebates – You join their website. Then you search for the store you what to shop. Click “shop now” and it will bring you to the stores website. You will also see some coupon codes listed to uses while you shop. There are some coupon codes that if you use, you will not get the cash back. I have not had a problem with this, but some people have. When you join and make a purchase, you get a $5 bonus. Plus, until August 31, if you spend $25 online you will also get to choose a $10 gift card to Barnes & Nobel, Target, Home Depot, or Magazines.com. Or you can chose an extra $5 back from Ebates.
Shop at Home – You join their website. Then you search for the store you what to shop. Click “shop now” and it will bring you to the stores website. You will also see some coupon codes listed to uses while you shop. When you join and make a purchase, you get a $5 bonus.
How they pay:
Ebates – Every 3 months, they send you a cash back payment for purchases posted during the previous quarter based on their schedule. But if you’ve earned less than $5.01 cash back, they’ll carry over your money to the next check. Bonus Rewards do not count toward the $5.01 minimum. The term “Bonus Rewards” includes monies earned as a Sign-up Reward or Tell-A-Friend Bonus. They will send you a check or pay you by PayPal when you cash back total is more than $5.01. Earn between Jan 1-Mar 31 – Paid on May 15, Earn between Apr 1-June 30 – paid on Aug 15, Earn between July 1-Sept 30 – Paid on Nov 15, Earn between Oct 1-Dec 31 – Paid on Feb 15.
Shop at Home – They will send a rebate check when your account balance reaches the $20 minimum. (This balance can include your “refer a friend” bonus.) If you made purchases that have posted to your account within a payout period and your mailing address has been verified you should be eligible to receive a cash back check. If your account has not reached the minimum of $20.00, your cash back balance stays in your account and once you reach the monthly minimum, they will send your check. After you reach the $20, they will verify your mailing address ans send you a check. Earn cash back by 8/31/2011 – they will send you a check by 10/31/2011, Earn cash back 9/30/2011 – they will send you a check by 11/30/2011, etc.
If you refer friends for either site, you will get $5 when they make a purchase. It’s not a ton of money, but if you are shopping online you should get some free money back! It’s not a lot of extra work and it’s always nice to get some money! I just deposited $44 I earned through Shop at Home!
Both sites pay from 2% – 15% cash back on purchases. I got 15% back from Target and 15% when I bought my contacts online. Once I get paid from one of them, I go to the other site to build up my balance. It adds up!!
