I can’t remember where I found this recipe but it is AWESOME! It really tastes just like the white sauce they serve at Japaneses Restaurants! It says you need to let it sit for it to taste better, but I think it tastes good all the time! I use it with my Stir-Fry Recipes and I also love it over Fried Rice!
Japanese Steakhouse White Sauce
- 1-1/4 cup Hellmann’s mayonnaise (You HAVE to use real Mayo!)
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon melted butter (I usually melt this first in the storage container)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- dash cayenne pepper
Using a fork or a whisk, blend all ingredients together thoroughly until well mixed and the sauce is smooth. You should refrigerate overnight to allow flavors to blend, but I have used it just a few hours after making it. Bring to room temperature before serving.
