My mom had leukemia for 20 years and passed away this past October. We were blessed to have her sister as a perfect match and her marrow sustained her over the course of 20 years with several infusions and treatments.
There are thousands of people waiting for a marrow transplant that have not found their donor yet. Just a little over 1/2 of them get to have a transplant.
Be the Match Morrow Donor program normally cost $100 to register and to offset the lab cost but during the month of January America Express Foundation is paying for each person that registers. You can still make a donation if you would like but it is not required. Thank you American Express Foundation!
It is very simple to register. It took me less than 5 minutes. You will receive the lab kit in the mail in a few days and all you have to do is swab the inside of your mouth with a q tip and send it back in. They even provide the postage paid envelope.
What a honor it would be to help give someone a chance at life.
