Well – JCPenny has decided to bring back the clearance signs! They are going to eliminate the “Best Price” signs. I guess they figured that us “couponers” are not a big fan of the new pricing policy 🙂 I posted an article a few months about how they lost a lot of money and blamed couponers for the decline in sales.
I am not sure if the prices will be better or if they are changing the signs to make us “think” we are getting a better deal.
The new pricing will keep the “Every Day” low prices that are consistently 40 percent lower than regular prices before the company eliminated sales. It also will keep periodic sales but will change their name from “Best Price” to “Clearance.” And it will get rid of “Month Long” deals.
In their defense, we went on vacation last week and I forgot my bathing suit. So I ran to the mall and searched 2 department stores for a bathing suit. The prices were insane – over $50. So I decided to give JCPenny a chance and I was pleasantly surprised. I found a very cute tankini for $28.
