Fed Up With Frenzy – Spend Distraction Free Time With Your Children

Policy

FRENZYcoverFINAL2

Most nights I go to bed and I think – where did the day go? Each day passes by and my kids are growing up so quickly. I try to think about how I spent the day and I feel guilty that I hardly spend “quality time” with my three children. I am with them all day, but we were all busy doing our own thing.

I read in a 2010 report that kids spend an average of 53 hours per week on electronic devices. This is an insane number to me. Families spend way too much time on electronic devices. The whole family needs to “unplug”. But how can we do this when everything is technology driven?

I know I am not the only parent that feels this way. We all have busy lives. We have jobs. Our kids go to school and have after school activities. Fed Up With Frenzy: Slow Parenting in a Fast-Moving World really helps you realize that you need to slow down and reconnect with your family! There are so many great ideas in this book to help you spend more quality time with your family.

This book would be a great gift for any parent this holiday season.

We tried a few of the activities and we really had a lot of fun with the bubble recipe. I had all the ingredients in my house – so it was a very cheap project!

We like to us old water bottles that are cut off at the bottom. Then we find a sock – because we always have many extra socks – and put it over the opening at the end of the bottle and secure it with a rubber band. When you dip it in the bubble mixture it makes a foam train. It is a lot of fun and it makes so many bubbles!

This bubble activity is one of the many fun activities you can do with your kids. There are so many more activities we can’t wait to do together.  If you are looking for some tips to help you slow down and spend more time with your family, you must get this book. We all need a reminder to “slow down”!

I love this! Even though the 5 of us are home together a lot, we aren't "together". I need to get this for some great ideas, thanks so much!

From the perspective of a parent with teenagers about to leave the nest I can tell you time flies by way too quickly. It is imperative to put less important things aside for the people we love. Reading your post reminded me that just the other day I was out blowing bubbles in the back yard with my 18 and 16 yr old. And they loved it!
