I have two really yummy keto chaffle recipes on my blog. They are yummy but they are mostly egg and cheese. This is a lighter version of a keto-friendly bread recipe! It doesn’t have an eggy taste like some keto bread recipes.

This is my go to keto sandwich bread recipe. It’s really close to regular bread without all the carbs!

Keto Pizza Chaffles

Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Chaffles

When you are eating low carb and keto foods you really miss bread! I love breakfast sandwiches, peanut butter, and jelly sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs….and so much more that all require bread. And now, I can still enjoy all these things with this recipe for white bread keto chaffles!

What Are Chaffles?

Chaffles are very popular for people that follow a keto diet. They are very easy to make, they taste delicious, and can use them instead of bread to limit your carb intake each day.

Why is it called a Chaffle?

When chaffle first became popular they were mostly made with cheese and eggs in a waffle maker = Chaffle. Basically, it’s a cheese waffle.

But as we try new ingredients in different recipes – the chaffle recipe has evolved!

When you enjoy a traditional chaffle it’s more crunchy and has more of a cheese flavor. And this is great when you are eating it like a pizza or a breakfast sandwich. But it doesn’t go well with a PB&J sandwich.

That is why I love this easy chaffle recipe.

How to enjoy this White Bread Keto Chaffle:

  • Sandwich – make it with PB&J (sugar free of course), add your favorite cold cuts and veggies and have a sub, enjoy it at a BBQ with a hamburger or hotdog.
  • Toast it – spread a little butter and sugar free jelly on it or sugar free cinnamon sugar.
  • Add some maple extract and some sugar free sugar and they will taste like McGriddles.
  • Use them to make French Toast.

The possibilities are endless!!

How to make a Chaffle

You will need a special appliance to make these but I promise that they are small and cheap! I have a Dash mini waffle maker. The price fluctuates but you can usually get them for about $9.99 at Amazon.

How to store leftover white bread chaffle

Once they are cooled you can place them in the fridge or freezer – depending on soon you plan on eating them. You can separate them with wax paper or parchment paper.

I have never tried this but I have read some people use coffee filter to separate the chaffles in a storage bag.

When you are ready to enjoy them, pop them in the microwave for about 15 seconds or toast them in the toaster.

You will also need a small bowl, whisk, measuring cups & spoons, and a waffle maker.

Pre-heat the waffle iron – do not spray it with any kind of cooking spray.

In a small bowl, mix all the ingredients together with a whisk.

Add about 3 Tablespoons of the batter to the mini waffle maker. (I use a 1/4 measuring cup and don’t fill it all the way.)

I have had some issues getting used to the textures of some foods that use almond flour. But these chaffles really do taste like white keto bread.

They are soft and fluffy – you will almost forget they aren’t loaded with carbs!

White bread chaffle variations:

  • Try different flours – and let me know how it works. I have only tried it with almond flour
  • Would you like it less eggy? Use 3 egg whites instead of 2 whole eggs.
  • Replace the sour cream with melted coconut oil.
  • The longer you keep them in the waffle maker the crisper they will get but don’t burn them. They will also get crispier if you let them sit for a few minutes after you bake them.

This will become one of your favorite keto bread recipe! What are some of the ways you would enjoy these sandwich bread chaffles?

So glad I found this recipe! I need to eat gluten free and I don’t want all the cheese in the other recipes of chaffles. Finally something easy I can use as bread or a bun. Thanks!

It's 1/4 cup + 2 Tablespoons. You can also do 6 Tablespoons because 1/4 cup = 4 Tablespoons.
