My Frugal Stove Top Oatmeal

We really like brown sugar and cinnamon oatmeal. So I have figured out a cheap way to make it for my family. It’s really simple. You just put equal parts of water, milk, and oats in a sauce pan. Stir it up and boil over medium heat. Once it can be pulled back with a spoon and it stays – it’s done. It usually is about 3-4 minutes of a slow boil for me. (For 1 serving I would suggest a 1/2 cup of each.)

After its done I add a little butter, some vanilla, browns sugar, and cinnamon.

That’s it! It’s really simple and we love it!

What other stuff do you like to put in your oatmeal?

My family likes to make baked oatmeal. After it is baked, we put milk and raisens in it. Yum!! The best thing about it is that I can make one batch on Monday and we can eat it all week long by just cutting out a piece and heating it up in the microwave. I love to save time in the morning.
