Flash Back Friday - Banana Bread Recipe

banana bread

If you are looking for a super easy banana bread recipe - this is your recipe. I always make it when we have old bananas in the house. It's so easy that my husband has made it when I was out of town. It's always moist and delicious. Whenever I make this recipe I often get asked for the recipe. So if you have some old bananas in the house make this delicious bread!

Banana Bread

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup oil
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 ½ cup mashed bananas (about 3 bananas)
  • 3 Tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350. I use 2 smaller bread pans and make 2 loaves but you can make 1 large loaf if you prefer. Grease your pan and coat it with powdered sugar.
  2. Mix all ingredients together. I usually put the bananas in first so I can mush them with a whisk. Then I add the eggs and beat them. Next I add the rest of the ingredients. I am sure that you are supposed to mix the wet and dry then add them together, but it works just as well and makes less mess my way :)
  3. Bake about 50 minutes-1 hour until the middle is firm.

  1. We just made some banana bread this week. It's such an easy way to use up our ripe bananas! Thanks.

  2. I tried this recipe and it was yummy! I added a tablespoon of brown sugar to the recipe - little secret of mine. Adds just a little extra something to the flavor. I like to make the batter into muffins using cupcake papers - easy clean-up, bakes much faster and ready to grab-n-go.
