I love a good sandwich – but I don’t like to go somewhere to buy an over-priced sub! It wastes my time and money. So when Im shopping, I love to pick up some cold cuts so we can make sandwiches at home. Sandwiches are also great to pack for your child’s lunch or for an after school snack.
Kids can get really bored taking PB&J sandwiches to school. I know my kids prefer a good sandwich with delicious meats, cheese, and veggies. It is also healthier and more filling for them. Anywhere I can sneak in a vegetable, the better!
I do have a problem with some lunchmeats – they can be just gross. Sometimes I wonder how much of it is actually meat! While I was at Walmart I noticed Hillshire Farm Naturals™. It is a new premium line of lunchmeat that contains no artificial ingredients, preservatives or colors and no added nitrites/nitrates except those occurring naturally in celery juice. I love when I can read the ingredients and actually know what I am eating and serving my family!
The line features four varieties including: Slow Roasted Turkey Breast, Hardwood Smoked Turkey Breast, Honey Roasted Ham, and Black Forest Ham. You can find it in the deli section at your favorite Walmart. My store only had the Slow Roasted Turkey Breast and the Honey Roasted Ham. They are delicious. The kids loved them and we are already almost out of the 3 packs that I bought. Hopefully the next time I am at Walmart they will have the other flavors. I can’t wait to try them!
The price is awesome too! You pay just $3.48 for 1/2 a pound. That’s less than $7 per pound for a healthier choice in lunch meats. Another bonus – Hillshire Farm Naturals™ products are packaged in double-sealed, re-sealable tubs that lock in freshness and great taste. I love this! I don’t have to worry about finding another container to store it in after I open it. Plus it’s one less thing to wash!

What’s you favorite sandwich combination? I love turkey and cheese with some lettuce, mayo, salt & pepper. Then I like to dip it in red wine vinegar.

I have a hard time with some lunch meats, but this meat looks like it is actually real! Not processed mush that some companies pass off as real.

We love Hillshire's! It's all we buy. My friend's husband works for Hillshire's in Michigan and they speak very highly of the company.

We love the Hillshire Farm turkey breast slices. Great in a sandwich with lettuce and tomato.
