I love to bake! If I didn’t have to clean up the mess, I would be baking every single day! When I go shopping at Meijer I always make sure that I pick up something to make for dessert when I have my friends over each week.
Last week I was excited to see new NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Cookies & More Cookie Baking Mix with Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels and Butterfingers. They are cookie and brownie mixes that come with either Nestle Toll House chocolate chips or Butterfingers pieces. There are 4 varieties and of course I had to buy all of them!
- Brownies & More with Butterfingers
- Brownies & More with chocolate morsels
- Cookies & More with Butterfingers
- Cookies & More with chocolate morsels
What I love about these mixes is that I can follow the box instructions and make a pretty easy and amazing dessert or I can add a few more ingredients to change it up into a new dessert. The versatility and customization of the new baking mixes is exactly what I look for when I am looking for a dessert to make with my family. You can count on Toll House to come up with such a unique product – they have been over 75 years of baking experience.
This past week I invited some ladies over and I used the Brownies & More with chocolate morsels and I added a few more items to turn it into Turtle Brownies! Because each box already comes with the baking mix and a bag of chocolate chips, I only had to buy caramels, pecans, and swetened condensed milk to turn these brownies into a new dessert. It was so simple!
Turtle Brownies
- 1 package of NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Brownies & More Chocolate Baking Mix with Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels (Plus ingredients listed on the back)
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 1/4 cup unwrapped caramels
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 325* and grease an 8×8 baking pan.
Prepare the NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Brownies & More Chocolate Baking Mix with Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels as directed on the back of the package. (Set aside the chocolate chips.)
Pour half the batter into the baking dish and bake for 10 minutes.
While the brownies are baking add the caramels and the sweetened condensed milk to a small saucepan. Cook over medium low heat until the caramels are melted and combined well with the sweetened condensed milk.
Remove the brownies from the oven and pour the caramel mixture over the partially baked brownies.
Sprinkle with half the bag of chocolate chips and cover with the remaining brownie batter.
Top the brownies with the remaining chocolate chips and pecans and bake for an additional 20 minutes
Let them cool a little so that when you cut them the caramel doesn’t slide out.
Tip – always cut brownies with a plastic knife. It will cut the brownies in nice, neat squares!
There are so many ways you can use these baking mixes to create a fun and unique dessert. I also made the other mixes to share with my friends. You can’t go wrong with cookies and brownies with Butterfingers and chocolate chips.
