Ever since the Spring, we have been inviting people over for dinner on Friday nights. We grill and hang out in the back yard and let the kids run around and play for hours. It’s a fun tradition we have started to get to know our neighbors better and spend time with new friends.
The weather will be getting colder, so we will be moving our Friday night parties to Sunday afternoon football parties. I don’t really care about the games, but I do love the food.
Our Sunday football parties will always include wings from Walmart. Why would I mess up my kitchen when these wings were better than any sports bar and I can get them without having to wait for a table? These wings are fresh, fast and convenient!
Every week I will have to come up with a new side dish to share, and this week I made Totchos. They are basically like loaded baked potatoes but more fun to eat. Use the tator tots to soak up all the yummy goodness in this recipe. It’s simple to throw together and tastes amazing. They are perfect with the buffalo wings.
Touchdown Totchos
Ingredients:
- 32 oz bag of Flat Tator Tots
- ¾ cup Ranch Dressing
- ¾ cup Sour Cream
- 1- 1 ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6-7 slices cooked and crumbled bacon
- Green onions
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 425ºF. Place the tator tots in an even layer on an 11×17 baking sheet. Bake the tator tots according to package directions, until golden brown and crispy. I transferred the tator tots to an oven safe platter so it was easier to serve.
In a small bowl, mix the sour cream and Ranch dressing and spread the mixture over the cooked tator tots.
Top with the cheddar cheese and bacon pieces.. Return to the oven for just a few minutes, until the cheese melts.
Top with the green onions and serve immediately.
I am a little picky when it comes to wings, and I was so happy these wings tasted so good. It makes it easy for me, too, because we have a Walmart about a mile from where we live. These wings are going to become a common meal in our house because they really are so delicious and affordable. I will be looking for excuses to invite people over just so I can eat this meal.
Make plans this Sunday to eat wings and totchos while you watch your favorite team. What’s flavor will you try first – Buffalo, Hot, General Tso’s, Honey BBQ, and Ranch?
Walmart has wings at the deli counter. That sounded like a pretty amazing deal for me. I love to spend time in the kitchen – but I have never been that great at making the perfect wings.
They have bone-in and boneless wings. The flavors vary per store, but may include Buffalo, Hot, General Tso’s, Honey BBQ, and Ranch. I decided to try the buffalo wings. I was a little skeptical because it was too easy and very affordable…..but they were delicious! There was a ton of meat on each wing and the sauce was perfect. My 3 kids even loved them.

I've been saying "please make this later" to myself for about a few minutes now since I saw this. I've never been tempted to munch and gobble on some great wing and tot treats for a while!

Football season is full on going on in our house. My son and husband love watching the game and it seems like the past two weekends we've had guests too. These will be great to make for them!
