I received a new grill and accessories from STOK. All opinions are my own.
We moved to a tiny town just outside of Louisville, Kentucky. The town is amazing. And the people are so friendly. We built our house in a new neighborhood and everyone moved into their houses in 2016. We were all new – so we wanted to make sure we had the chance to get to know our neighbors and make new friends in our hometown.
That’s how #GrillingFriday began. We love to grill. Since we are from Florida, we were used to grilling all the time. But in Kentucky – some days are just too cold to be outside. Once the kids got out of school, we started #GrillingFriday.
Every Friday night we would invite 1 or 2 families over for dinner. We would provide the meat and we would ask the other families to bring a side. You know I love dessert – so I would also use the night as a way to try out a new dessert.
This was always a big hit! We shared many laughs and delicious meals with so many families. We know many of our neighbors and they are like family to us. We would also invite people from our church over for dinner.
I think now a days, we don’t know our neighbors. But I think that your neighbors should be apart of your lives. They are there for you when your kids get sick and you need someone to pick up ice pops at the grocery store, or you can send them a meal when they had to spend the night in the hospital. Our kids spend countless hours together running through each others yards.
We should all get to know our neighbors. And everyone loves food! So why not start #GrillingFriday in your neighborhood?
I have some new tools that are going to make this year’s meals amazing! Have you heard of STOK grills? They have several options but we wanted the The STŌK® QUATTRO™ 4-Burner grill. I love the size of the Cast Iron Kettle. I can make Low Country Boils and large soups on the grill. (I need a good Low Country Boil recipe!)
And with the Chicken Roaster Insert I can marinate vegetables and potatoes while my chicken is roasting.
