We just moved from Louisville, Kentucky to Tampa, Florida. There are so many things to think about when you are moving. If you are planning a move to the Tampa Bay area – here are some tips to help you find the best place to live!
Tampa is a huge area. It’s a beautiful area and you have the option to live in a big city highrise to a bungalow on the water. Both options will provide the most beautiful views. And when you live in the Tampa Bay area, you always have access to the best beaches!
The first thing you need to do when moving is to figure out your budget! You do not want your housing to cost more than 25% of your monthly budget.
Next, you can write out a list of the things you definitely need to have and a list of things that would be nice to have.
When we were looking for a place to live we picked our budget and then we started to look at places that fit our needs:
- We needed at least 3 bedrooms – but 4 bedrooms would be nice.
- The kitchen had to be a good size – because I spend a lot of time cooking.
- And it had to be in a certain school district.
Some of the things that we would love to have had in our new home were:
- A screened-in porch
- Fenced in backyard
- 2.5 bathrooms (It’s so nice to have a guest bathroom that’s not always used by the family!)
- A pool
- Bonus space (like a loft or living room)
During this process, we weren’t sure if we were going to be able to find a house to rent or if we would live in an apartment.
Now that our search is over, I am happy to say that we did find a home that had all the things we had on both lists except for the pool. But
my family lives just a few miles away and they do have a pool!
