This year was a crazy year! Besides a worldwide pandemic, we had some pretty life-changing things happen to our family.
Let’s rewind a little….
In 2003 my husband and sold everything we owned, our house, furniture, cars, etc., and moved from Florida to Mexico City. We only had 6 suitcases of our clothes and some personal items. We didn’t even have any kids.
We lived in Mexico for 12 years. When we returned we had 3 kids and 10 pieces of luggage and 10 carry-on items.
We settled back in the US in Louisville, Kentucky. My husband had a job there so we bought our dream house and thought we would live there forever. We lived in the most perfect small town, in the best neighborhood, on the best street!
But then 2020 happened and we took a step back to look at our finances and our goals and realized Louisville wasn’t where we were supposed to be anymore.
Once again, we packed up everything we owned…this time it consisted of a moving pod and 3 carloads of stuff.
We have settled into our new home that is just a few miles from our family. My kids go to the same schools that I went to and they get to hear stories about places that we drive by.
So what does all this have to do with our New Year’s Resolution?
We have owned a small business, Click It Media Inc, for a few years. I offer marketing services to my clients and I can do my job anywhere in the world.
My husband was a pastor, but he is very skilled at website design, video editing, graphic design, and more. So after much prayer, we decided it was time for him to join me so we could both do our jobs anywhere in the world
After 17 years away from home, we have moved back home. It feels kinda weird that I can shop at Publix again and go shopping with my mom.
We get to spend more time with our kids, and we can spend more time traveling now that we work for ourselves.
2021 New Year’s Resolution…Financial Freedom!
All these perks come with some financial responsibilities. 2021 is going to be the year we solidify our financial future to work less and enjoy life more. If 2020 has taught us anything – it is that life is precious and we want to have more time with the ones we love.
We are pretty simple people and don’t have huge car payments and debt. So we want to build our savings and retirement accounts.
One way we will do that is to diversify our income more. The top resolution for 2021 is that we will get our Real Estate License and sell 7 homes in 2021.
We also want to learn more about how to invest our money to work for us so we can work less in the future.
