When I’m making dinner, I always reach for recipes with simple ingredients. That’s exactly why these oven roasted potatoes are a staple in my kitchen. They’re made with just a small bag of potatoes, lipton onion soup mix, and olive oil. Easy, flavorful, and no extra prep.

Onion Roasted Potatoes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 bag small tri-color potatoes (24 oz)
  • 1 envelope Lipton onion soup potatoes seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (vegetable oil works too)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Wash the potatoes and trim off any bad spots. If needed, cut them into even-sized pieces for consistent cooking—perfect for roast potatoes that bake evenly.
  3. Place potatoes in a large bowl and toss with olive oil until fully coated.
  4. Sprinkle the onion soup mix potatoes seasoning over the potatoes and mix well.
  5. Spread the potatoes in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet. This is key for crispy potatoes in oven results.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes, stirring halfway through so they brown evenly. You’ll end up with golden, fork-tender roasted potatoes with a crisp exterior.

Ingredients

  • 1 Bag of small tri-color potatoes (24 oz)
  • 1 envelope Lipton Onion Soup Mix
  • 2 Tablespoon olive oil (or vegetable oil would work too)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°.
  2. Wash potatoes and trim off any bad spots. If the potatoes are large chunks, you can cut them into small pieces so they are all the same size.
  3. Place potatoes in a large bowl and mix in olive oil so that all the potatoes are coated.
  4. Sprinkle the dry onion soup mix on the potatoes and thoroughly mix. 
  5. Place potatoes on a rimmed baking sheet in a single layer and bake at 400° for 40 minutes - they will be fork-tender and a nice golden brown with a crispy exterior. Halfway through cooking, you can stir the potatoes around on the sheet to help them get browned on all sides.
