How To Make Cleaning Your Home A Little Easier

A recent study found that moms are spending as much as 23 hours a week on housework – and between cleaning and other responsibilities, this leaves little time in their routine for self-care and relaxation.

Fortunately, you do not have to spend every free minute with a dustpan and brush in your hand in order to create a healthy and safe home environment for your family.

With that in mind, here are some top tips that will make cleaning your home a little easier!

Invest in easy-to-clean furniture. Easy-to-clean furniture will save you a great deal of time when it comes to staying on top of household chores. For example, you can simply wipe Leather Dining Chairs after a messy meal or spillage, whereas upholstered chairs would take a lot more elbow grease!

Assign your children age-appropriate chores. Encouraging your children to help out around the home by assigning them age-appropriate chores is a great way to keep your home looking its best, without leaving yourself exhausted. It’s also a great way to teach your kids the value of money

In order to prevent boredom, consider rotating their chores each week. For example, you may want to put them in charge of loading and unloading the dishwasher one day, and sweeping the floors/vacuuming the next.

Spend ten minutes putting things away each night. Clutter is one of the biggest challenges you’ll face when it comes to keeping your home in pristine condition, especially if the rest of your family seems content with leaving their belongings all over the place. However, you can make this much easier by spending roughly ten minutes each night putting things back where they belong and encouraging others to do the same.

You should also declutter regularly, such as by encouraging your children to donate their old toys and clothes to charity (and doing the same).

Focus on cleaning one room at a time. Rather than attempting to clean your entire house from top to bottom, you may find that you use your time much more efficiently by focusing on cleaning one room at a time. This will allow you to fit cleaning into your routine rather than letting it dominate it.

Cleaning Your Home can take up a lot of time. But with these tips you will spend less time cleaning and more time relaxing.

Remember that your home does not have to look perfect. While you may feel a lot of pressure to keep your home pristine, it’s important to remember that your home does not have to look like a picture-perfect showroom. This is a space that your family is living and growing in, and a little mess is not only normal, but perfectly acceptable. Keeping this in mind will allow you to relax, especially as you’ll feel less inclined to start cleaning each time you notice a small imperfection.

While keeping your home clean and tidy is important, it should not take up the bulk of your free time. After all, you deserve some time for yourself, too, especially as a busy parent. Following the advice above should help you to
