This afternoon I wanted to make something sweet. My husband suggested ooey gooey butter cake and I was happy when I realized I had all the ingredients. It’s a simple cake that is easy to prepare and taste great! The best part is, it only has 5 ingredients!
Oooey Gooey Butter Cake
Layer 1
1-pound cake box mix (unprepared) I have also used a vanilla cake mix
2 eggs
1 stick butter, melted
Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 9X13 pan.
Combine ingredients and pour into 9X13 pan.
Layer 2
2 eggs
1 8oz package cream cheese, softened
1 box powdered sugar (4 cups)
Combine ingredients and pour into 9X13 pan.
Bake for 30 minutes. Do not over cook! This cake sometimes tastes better after it have been refrigerated for several hours.
I have also seen a chocolate variation of this recipe. Maybe I will try that next time.
