Baked Spaghetti Casserole

I have made this recipe a few times and we really like it. It is sorta like lasagna but not so much work. It is not a good summer dish but it is not too hot here right now. It uses cottage cheese instead of Ricotta cheese. You can’t even tell that it has cottage cheese. It also feeds a lot of people!

Baked Spaghetti Casserole

Pasta Ingredients
8 ounces spaghetti
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons dried parsley
1 cup cottage cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Sauce Ingredients:
8 ounces ground beef
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
3 cups spaghetti sauce
1/2 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese to put on top if you would like

Instructions:
1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and return to pan. Add butter and stir until butter is melted. Add remaining pasta ingredients, stirring to combine. Spread pasta-cheese mixture in the bottom of a greased 9 X 13 baking dish.

3.Cook ground beef with the onions and garlic. Drain and add remaining ingredients.

4. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until heated thoroughly.
