This week I was getting frustrated because my clothes were taking so long to dry. Then it dawned on my to hang my clothes. In my old house we had 2 clothes lines next to my dryer so it made it easy to hang my stuff. In my new house, I just never got around to putting up a new clothes line.
So this week as I was washing clothes I noticed the bright sun and nice breeze. I went into our garage and found my old clothes line! I found 2 nails and hung the line. I was washing blankets and sheets so I hung those on the line and started another load. About 10 minutes later my blankets and sheets were just about dried! I was shocked! They would have been in the dryer for about an hour – and I just dried them for FREE courtesy of the sun.
I now hang as much stuff as I can hang. I have 3 small kids so that a lot of small clothes. I don’t have a lot of space on my line so I use it for my clothes and my husband’s stuff. I even have hangers out there to hang stuff so I have more space on the line. I like that the stuff is already in hangers!
What about you? Do you think it is worth hanging your clothes? I love that I can do more loads if I have a load of clothes drying on the line and one in the dryer! I feel more productive and like I am helping the environment!
