Rod Stewart’s New Album Time

TimeCover

Rod Stewart has spent the last four decades being a rock star. For 3 decades he has been a parent. You can tell fatherhood is the inspiration for his newest album Time. Time is his first album of new material in almost 20 years – he still looks the same!

Time was released on May 7th, 2013, and it marks Stewart’s long-awaited return to his songwriting roots and features 12 tracks, 11 of which he wrote and produced. I was lucky enough to be provide with an advanced copy and it is a wonderful new album. It’s an album that has music that all generations will love. My mom and I both loved this album a lot.

He was inspired to write most of these songs while he was writing his memoir. Here’s what he had to say about this album.

“Suddenly ideas for lyrics were piling up in my head,” he says. “Next thing I knew, I had a song called ‘It’s Over’ about divorce and separation. And now I was getting up in the middle of the night and scrambling for a pen to write things down, which has never happened to me. I finished seven or eight songs very quickly and I still wasn’t done, and it became apparent that I would eventually have a whole album of material to record.”

He’s even going on tour! His European leg of his Live the Life tour starts on June 1st, while American dates with Steve Winwood will kick off October 17th. I am sure he is a really great performer. I enjoyed watching him preform on The Voice this past week.

If you have loved Rod Stewart from the begin of his career or you have never bought any of his music – this is a great album for you! You can easily find his album on Amazon or iTunes!

Rod Stewart is an old soul classic artist! I've always loved him. I love his old song, "Maggie". Glad to see he's still making music!
