“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Aflac. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.”

ObamaCare is in the news every day. Many of us don’t really understand the changes it may cause to our heath care coverages. If you work for a large employer, they may not have even communicated the changes that may effect you! According to an Aflac survey, the reason you may not know about these changes is because only 9% of companies are prepared to implement the changes to your health care coverage.

There are many things about our health care policies that we currently have that we may not understand. I was surprised when I read more results from this survey.

  • 74% of workers sometimes or never understand their medical benefits.
  • With the new changes, 37% think it will be more difficult to understand their policy.
  • 28% of employees are worried or confused about the change their employers are making to their healthcare policy.
  • 60% of workers have not begun to educate themselves on the coming changes due to health care reform.

Have you ever considered purchasing supplemental insurance. I have a friend that is always talking about how Aflac has helped her family. Recently her husband had a heart attack and because they had Aflac they did not have to pay a penny out of their pocket for the medical bills that were not covers by their health insurance.

Because she has shared many times  with us how Aflac has helped her family, I wanted to do some research to learn more about how Aflac can help families. They have amazing benefits that help you. They pay you cash to help you with your daily expenses when you are sick or hurt (unless otherwise assigned). Even if you file a claim, your rates don’t go up.

After reviewing Aflac’s Open Enrollment Sheet, I was surprised to learn so much. There are people available to help you understand the cost and the benefits of Aflac. I will be doing more research to see which plan is right for our family.

You should always understand what types of benefits you already have with your current health and disability insurance policies. Knowing your benefits now can help you during stressful times. Having a policy like Aflac can help you feel more secure during a crisis.

I will also leave you with another tip  – It’s also important to know that cheaper is not always better. Make sure to compare the premiums vs deductible and coverage amounts so you don’t get stuck with a huge bill.
