I hope you don’t mind that I am going to take a break from deal posts and giveaways just for a moment so I can share something that is important to me.
I don’t often share personal information with everyone but I think that it’s time you learn a little more about our family. I grew up going to church – I loved being a part of my Youth Group. I loved it so much that I prayed that my future husband would be a youth pastor. A few months after I started to work at Publix and guy came back from college for the summer and he had previously worked at Publix. So when he came back during his breaks, Publix would let him work. So this is how I met my husband Publix back in the 90’s. I soon found out that he was attending Liberty University and studying Youth Ministry. I pretty much knew he was the guy for me.
While he was in college he learned about Youth Ministry International. They were a mission organization that trained youth workers around the world. He read that 97% of the world’s trained youth workers worked in the United States – where just 3% of the world’s youth population lived! Imagine if that stat applied to doctors – the people in other countries would be in a lot of trouble. He wanted to help but he had never been a youth pastor – so he filed away the application. After a few years we sold everything we owned and moved to Latin America. We have lived there for over 10 years and he has had the privilege of training youth workers all over the world!
Can You Help?
Our organization is small but we are training youth workers in many locations in Latin America, Romania, Kenya, Ukraine, France, and more. We are helping Youth Ministry International raise money for 2014 so we can make a greater impact and train youth workers in many more countries. We have people begging us in many other countries to come and train them to be Youth Pastors. Even if you can donate $10 you can be part of training youth workers all over the world!
How many of you became a Christian before they were 18 years old? There are students all over the world that need someone to care about them and teach them that Jesus loves them. Can you help us? I am so glad I had a wonderful youth group when I was in high school. I think that everyone should have a youth group to attend no matter where they live!
