DIY Homework Station & Snack Recipe

Sharing is caring!

This information is brought to you by Tampico Punch. All opinions are my own. #SchoolisCoolWithTampico

It feels like we just started summer vacation. I love to have my kids home with no responsibilities over summer vacation. We can stay up late and sleep in. We can do fun things like visit a strawberry picking farm or go on vacation.

I am not a fan of getting up at 6am but with everything, if we have a routine set up, it makes it a lot easier. Of course the night before we get everything ready. We get their clothes picked out, shoes are by the door, all their homework is back in their back packs, and they have decided what they want to bring for lunch.

When they get home I also like to have everything set up for them so they can get done with their homework and relax for the rest of the evening. Having everything they need is essential. When they get home they are hungry and thirsty so I have a snack and Tampico Punch ready for them. I have also set up a DIY homework station that has everything they need to do their homework. I don’t want them to have to worry about finding a sharpened pencil or an eraser before they get started.

In order to help you have a successful Back to School season I am going to share with you my DIY Homework station and my snack time tips.

Tampico

The DIY Homework station is easy. When you are purchasing all your supplies, grab a few extra items:

  • Crayons
  • Colored pencils
  • Markers
  • Sharpened Pencils
  • Pencil Sharpener
  • Loose leaf paper
  • Erasers
  • Ruler
  • Highlighters
  • Post-it notes

Get a cute tray and set it on the middle of the table. When they start their homework they have everything they need!

Snacks are just as important as supplies. I don’t want them to fill up on too much because I want them to eat dinner. I have a fast and delicious recipe for Peanut Butter Snack Balls that I can throw together.

Peanut Butter Snack Balls

(Printable Recipe)

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats (the smaller oats)
  • 3/4 cup crispy rice cereal
  • 1/2 cup of candy coated peanut butter pieces*

Instructions:

In a bowl, combine the peanut butter, honey, and vanilla. Add the oats and rice cereal until they are well combined. Finally, add the candy coated peanut butter pieces and stir until they are combined into the mixture.

Place in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. You want them to be cold enough so you can form them into balls.

Form them into balls and serve when they get home.

*Get creative with these snack balls. You can switch out the candy coated peanut butter piecess for mini candy coated chocolate pieces, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, etc. Find a flavor you love and try it!

Make sure you serve these up with Tampico punch. My kids love all the varieties that are available from citrus punch to fruit punch. Make Tampico a part of all your family gatherings! They make several drinks that the whole family will love. You can find it on the beverage aisle at your favorite store.
