Sharing is caring!

Sugar Free Dairy Free Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal

I have been trying to follow the Trim Healthy Mama eating plan and this Sugar Free Dairy Free Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal is really going to help. With the Trim Healthy Mama lifestyle you basically cut out carbs and sugar but there are so many alternatives so you can still enjoy your breads and sweet treats!

The food is really good and I can easily lose weight when I follow the plan. But some days it is just hard to break up your routine and try new recipes. Yes it will take a little longer at first to prepare some of the meals from THM but after a few times it will be come a habit and it will be easy to make.

You can read more about the changes I am making and the new foods I eat. I can have bacon and eggs for breakfast and a cookie for dessert – it’s all about making better choices and picking the better ingredients.

There is a lot of information about the Trim Healthy Mama eating plan so I totally suggest you get the bo0k. You can learn a lot when you join the FB groups, so if you can only buy 1 book right now I would suggest you get Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook: Eat Up and Slim Down with More Than 350 Healthy Recipes. If you want to completely understand the plan also pick up Trim Healthy Mama Plan: The Easy-Does-It Approach to Vibrant Health and a Slim Waistline.

Sugar Free Dairy Free Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal

(makes 2 servings)

For the oatmeal

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • Pinch sea salt
  • 3 Tablespoons Gentle Sweet or sweetener of your choice like Swerve.
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Cinnamon
  • 1 1/2  cup dairy free milk of choice (I used cashew milk)
  • 1/2 cup of water

For the Glaze

  • 1 Tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 – 1 Tablespoon of Gentle Sweet or sweetener of your choice like Swerve. (until your desired sweetness)
  • Optional – dairy free milk to thin out and cinnamon for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan combine the rolled oats, sea salt, cinnamon, gentle sweet and milk.
  2. Simmer on medium until most of the liquid is absorbed.
  3. Remove from heat and pour into a bowl. (Share or put the second portion away for tomorrow’s breakfast or a late night snack.)
  4. Mix the ingredients to make the glaze.  Top it with cinnamon roll glaze and enjoy!

It’s pretty easy. I love oatmeal for breakfast especially when it’s cold outside. This is a great recipe because you can make a double or triple batch so it’s easy to reheat and eat!

Just to be informative, there is dairy free butter for those of you that haven't seen the commercial. They have avocado butter and olive oil butter and ive used both. They are great...and so is this recipe. Thank you!

Thanks! Yes - I have friends that are GF and DF, so we have bought DF butter for them and they were impressed :)

Butter is not dairy free. Obviously use something other than butter to make this actually dairy free.

The butter is optional but they do make dairy-free butter you can use in place of real butter.

We try to stay low carb so this is a great option to be able to have oatmeal once in a while if we keep it sugar free.
