2017 Mazda CX-3 – The Safest Car I Have Ever Driven

I was provided a 2017 Mazda CX-3 to test drive for a week. All opinions are my own. #DriveMazda

During a trip through Florida last month I had the privilege of driving a  2017 Mazda CX-3 Grand Touring FWD. Normally, I am traveling with family, so we need a bigger car. This time it was just me, so I was excited to drive a sporty, smaller crossover SUV. This car was so much fun to drive.

The Mazda CX-3 was perfect for this road trip. It’s not the biggest of trunks, but the hatchback had enough room to hold a piece of luggage and a rolling carry on, which was great for me. I also fit my backpack in there on top. Besides having plenty of space for my stuff, it had some pretty amazing safety features that made me feel very safe while driving this car.

It may be hard to see in this picture, but just above the steering wheel there was a hologram-like screen that showed my speed. I didn’t have to take my eyes off the road to check my speed while driving the car.

It’s hard to go on a road trip without cruise control, but one of the most annoying things about cruise control is when others aren’t using it. When you are on the interstate and you catch up with the cars in front of you you have to hit the brakes and reset the cruise control or dial down your speed so you don’t ram into the back of the slower cars. This isn’t the case with the 2017 Mazda CX-3. This car can tell when you are getting close and it will slow dow for you and keep you at a safe distance. When you can get into the passing lane with no obstacles in front of you, it speeds back up to the cruise control speed.

What kind of gas milage is your car getting? The 2017 Mazda CX-3 gets at least 350 miles on a full tank! It’s easy on the wallet.

You can also soak up all the rays with the sunroof. Visiting Florida in March is the perfect time to drive with the sun roof open.

Safety, comfort, and great gas milage are 3 things that I loved about this car. Here are a few other things that you should know about this awesome car:

  • Mazda’s i-ACTIVSENSE advanced safety technologies, which use sensing devices such as milliwave radar help identify potential risks early on and reduce any chance of damage or injury.
  • It has push-button start, steering wheel mounted audio, and cruise control.
  • 60/40 split-fold rear bench seat for those times when you need more room for luggage.
  • Blind Spot Monitoring System with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
  • Automatic on/off headlights with High beam control.
  • Lane-departure warning.
  • Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC).
  • Rain-sensing wipers.
  • Smart Brake Support.
  • Smart City Brake Support.
  • Standard rear backup camera.
The new compact crossover SUV is the fifth model in Mazda’s line-up of new-generation vehicles that feature the full range of SKYACTIV Technology and KODO—Soul of Motion design. The CX-3 offers all the essentials people look for in a vehicle; a design of overwhelming quality and style, packaging developed solely with the customer’s ease-of-use in mind, and the responsive driving feel that Mazda strives for in every model.
