We have mastered How To Make Slime Without Borax in our house! My daughter makes slime in every color!
Let me tell you a funny story…last week my daughter asked me if she could bring some glue to school. I thought that was sweet and we grabbed a spare bottle and put it in her backpack.
Two days later she comes home and she’s playing with slime. I stopped for a moment and realized she wanted the glue so someone could make her slime – not to be helpful in her class!
I should have know! She had been asking me for weeks to make slime with her. I had been really busy and I didn’t want to make slime with any chemicals. So I finally found a recipe that would make stretchy and fun to play with slime that is not made with borax or liquid starch!
How To Make Slime Without Borax
Ingredients:
- 4 oz Elmers White Glue
- 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
- Food Coloring/glitter
- Saline Solution
Instructions:
- Add a bottle of white glue to a bowl
- Add the baking soda
- Mix with a spoon.
- Add a few drops of food coloring. (not too much because it can stain your hands.
- Slowly add in the saline solution and it will begin to thicken up. You may need to pick it up with your hands to mix it better and you can add more saline solution. Just add it very slowly because it will go from stretch to hard very quickly.
They didn’t have school last Friday because we live in Louisville and the Kentucky Derby is a huge event. So they close all the school. We’ve only lived here for 2 years and it’s so crazy that this horse racing event is 3 days of events for a 2-minute race. (But I digress!)
Anyway, since we didn’t have school on Friday we went to the store and got these ingredients. (It’s a pretty cheap project.) We got a bigger bottle of glue so we did a few different colors and she was a happy girl!
So the next time you are looking for a (sorta) chemical-free recipe for slime – make sure you try this. It is lots of fun!
