The Jobs We Want To See Our Kids Have

When it comes to being a parent, we want our kids to succeed. But along the way we want them to learn all of the soft skills most job positions don’t call for: responsibility, compassion etc. Anhttps://www.savingyoudinero.com/disclosure/d in your effort to steer them in the right direction, there’s a good chance you’re going to need to have a job talk. So make sure you’re showing them the kind of jobs out there that are perfect for them; of course you’re always going to be proud of what they do, and ultimately it’s up to them, but the motivation for a long career sometimes needs refining!

In the modern day and age, there’s so many jobs out there our kids are going to be spoiled for choice, so let’s help them out a little. Without further ado, here’s a couple of job interests you can help your kids into, and lead them into a long path of success!

Becoming an Engineer

Working in the engineering field, there’s a lot of opportunities and different jobs for someone to fit. Not to mention it’s a very high paying field, with plenty of degrees to study for and apprenticeships to work and learn in at the same time. So if your child has a love for tinkering, if they like to pull things apart and put them back together, and has an undeniable love and curiosity for knowing how things work and finding solutions for problems, this is the field for them.

It’s going to be hard work to get to a place where they’ll be a fully fledged engineer, but it’s entirely worth it for all these reasons and more! There’s plenty of job stability here as well; people are always going to need engineers to work on oil rigs and in electrical situations, to name a few.

Working in Law

Working in law is something people tend to underestimate. Lawyers and barristers always seem to be side characters in our lives, but more people than we think are in need of them, and because of that there’s another great sense of job security. We’re all told how boring law school can be, and how boring the people around us on campus are going to be, but only take these quotes at face value. After all, these reports come from dropouts alone, so turn to people who made it all the way through.

Not to mention working in the law field is much more accessible than you think. You can turn almost everywhere to find an opportunity in this field, and there’s so many different lines of law for someone to walk down for a good career. And hey, when there’s an online criminal justice associates degree available, you’re going to finally realise such a career is going to be more achievable than ever!

Our kids are going to be contributing to the work world one day, and whatever they do is going to matter!

My daughter is looking at going into the medical field which I think is a good choice because there always seems to be jobs available, especially with the population getting older.

My daughter changed her majors three times when she was in college!! She didn’t even use her education when she got out of college. She married a man she met in college. Now some 21 years and four kids later, she went back to college and got her Masters in a whole other subject!! I’m very proud of her! She still went after her dream at 44 years old! Her children have taken notice. Her oldest son just graduated high school and is going to college. We are never too old to learn and follow our dreams!!

It is good to try to steer them into an education that will help them thrive in the work world, it is very competitive now. I know someone who has at least three kids majoring in theatre or music. I know someone very well off, their daughter majored in theatre, it was great in high school and college, but very hard after that, she ended up moving home around age 30 after a most meager subsistence. Kids have NO idea what will really help them pay the bills and keep them employed, they need adults' help.
