Get Money Smart

Sharing is caring!

Despite what you may think, you’re probably not going to be money smart. So many people throw money down the drain, without even realising it. But then you’ll find these people puzzled as to why they have no money! It seems the older you get, the wiser you become with money. But there’s no time like the present to try and get money smart, and luckily for you, we’re here to help you. Here are just a few ways that you can help yourself financially, and to continually improve the way in which you handle your own money. Have a read on to find out more.

Managing Big Payouts

This is the one thing that people seem to struggle with the most. Big payouts don’t come around too often, but when they do they can be absolutely crippling. For us Americans, health and dental care is one of the biggest. As long as you have a good care plan, you shouldn’t have to payout too much. For dental plans for example, you should check out Humana Dental Insurance Plans to see if you can find a plan that’s right for you. The more you pay, the more you get. Even though it might be annoying for you to pay so much into something that you rarely need, it’s better than paying less and having to manage a big payout further down the line. If you do have to manage one, we would recommend not getting yourself into debt over it. If you have to borrow, borrow sensibly, and make sure you can pay it back within two months. Any longer than two months and you’re just creating some serious problems for yourself.

Get Some Money Behind You

You always need to make sure you have money behind you, for one, it could help with situations like the above. But it’s not just random payouts that you should be saving for. You should be putting some money behind you to make sure you feel comfortable in life. There’s nothing worse than feeling as though you have no money, or have nothing to fall back on if anything did ever happen. It gives you a sort of sense of security that you otherwise wouldn’t have. Slowly build up your savings over the course of a year or two. It doesn’t matter how much you put aside each month, as long as you’re giving yourself a little something.

Be Money Smart

If you’re going to be money smart, then you can’t waste the money that you have. This is where a lot of people actually go wrong. They’ll spend money they don’t have, and then panic that they don’t have money. Think about all of the things that you actually need to spend money on in the month such as food and household bills, and see what you have left over. If you have $30 a week spare, and someone asks you to go for some food or a drink, you’re obviously going to have to say no!

This is really good advice to take to heart, thank you!! I will also have to check out Humana dental insurance plans, since I don't have dental coverage.

Some people are penny wise and pound foolish. But I think most people are just foolish by the pound.
