Do you want to travel but don’t think you can afford it? Well maybe your bank account limits your travel – but you can do some things to earn some free travel! Here is how we get free airline tickets!
My family loves to travel. We have traveled a lot as a family and each of us has been to some fun destinations! In 2019 I got an email from Delta about some discounts they had when you purchased tickets with frequent flyer miles. It said it was only 30,000 miles per ticket to fly from Indianapolis to Paris.
We had enough Delta Frequent Flyer Miles to get 5 FREE Airline tickets from Indianapolis to Paris!
We lived in Louisville – so it was only about a 90-minute drive to the airport. I did some research and checked dates and we made a crazy impulse decision to book the 5 round trip airline tickets!
I’m so glad we booked the vacation because a few months later the world shut down and we would not have been able to make those memories.

How To Get Many Frequent Flier Miles:
My husband traveled a lot for his job – so he got a lot of miles but if you dont already travel – the best way to get free frequent flier miles is with a credit card from your preferred airlines. We picked Delta for many reasons but mostly because it was a major airline at 3 airports within driving distance from our house.
So I did some research about the Delta American Express Credit Card. It has a lot of perks like bonus miles in certain categories, deals that you can add to your card every month to get a credit when you used the offers, an extended warranty on things purchased with the card, and your whole party would get the first piece of luggage for free when you booked a Delta flight with your card!
And when you apply and are approved for the Delta American Express Credit Card – you also get bonus miles! Normally you get 40,000 miles – which is pretty great! But with this limited-time offer, you can get 70,000 bonus miles when you apply and spend $2,000 in 3 months!
It’s easy to do – just use it to pay for your bills like cable, internet, etc, and use it for gas, groceries, and eating out – it will add up fast. BUT THEN PAY IT OFF IMMEDIATELY!
You can even pay with miles and save money on a flight: Take up to $50 off the cost of your flight for every 5,000 miles you redeem with Pay with Miles when you book on Delta.com‡
We are in Tampa – so I did some quick research about where we could fly with frequent flyer miles:
- Tampa – Kingston Jamaica 18,000 miles
- Tampa – Las Vegas 26,000 miles
- Tampa – NY 9,000 miles
- Atlanta – Honolulu 39,000 miles (41,000 from Tampa)
