Fettuccine Alfredo – The Last Recipe You Will Try!

alfredo

I love Fettuccine Alfredo but I have never been able to make a recipe that is quite like a restaurant. I have played around with so many ingredients and I think this is the best combination so far! If you are looking for a good copy cat recipe – you must try this recipe. Except for the heavy cream – I usually have the ingredients in my house! Try it – I think you will love it!

Printable version

  • 12 ounces fettuccine pasta ( I also use thin spaghetti)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ⅓ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons Mexican creama (You can use sour cream too)
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to the package instructions.

  2. In a saute pan melt butter, add garlic and let cook for a few minutes. (Be careful not to burn it.)

  3. Add 1 cup of heavy cream. Cook over medium heat until it starts to bubble.

  4. Add salt and cream – mix well. Let it simmer for about 2 minutes over low-medium heat.

  5. Remove from heat and add Parmesan cheese. Mix well and serve over pasta.

Please use real, freshly grated Parmesan cheese. It will not taste the same if you use the other stuff. I always have Mexican Crema in my house. I like it so much better than sour cream. But sour cream will probably also work!
