Our family has some unique stuffing recipes. One is Oatmeal Stuffing and the other is Sausage stuffing. Both are delicious and so easy to make.
If you are looking for a simple sausage recipe to try this year, add these ingredients to your shopping list!
This is how important this Sausage Stuffing recipe is in our family.
Drew is my 21-year-olds nephew, his mom (my sister) is not known for her cooking skills. This year she is preparing the Thanksgiving meal at her home and this is Drew’s reaction:
Drew is having a crisis about the sausage stuffing. He found out I was cooking it and had a meltdown! Said he wants grandma to cook it because it’s all he cares about on Thanksgiving and we can’t take a chance of me ruining it 😫
So Grandma will be going to his house the night before to make the sausage stuffing so that Drew can have the perfect Thanksgiving dinner.
We also shared some more funny stories about previous Thanksgiving meals like:
I once forgot to get corn! We do not eat corn, so when it was my time to prepare the meal, corn wasn’t on my list. This also ruined Drew’s meal 🙂
My sister had no clue how long to cook the bird!
And another year, they forgot sweet potatoes!
My Thanksgiving is perfect if I have my family with me and we have turkey, oatmeal and sausage stuffing, real mashed potatoes, and homemade gravy!
Oh and some yummy desserts! This year I am making a peanut butter pie with a pretzel crust and a cherry pie at my son’s request.
I would love to hear about some of the funny stories or traditions for your holiday meals. Do you serve an interesting side dish? What would ruin a meal? (No gravy for me = I can’t eat!)
I hope you enjoy this sausage stuffing recipe as much as our family has enjoyed it for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals!
