4 Tips To Protect Your Smile #HealthySmiles #ad Trident

Last month my kids went to the dentist. It wasn't the best visit they had. My oldest was good. Most of his baby teeth were about to fall out and all his adult teeth were perfect. My youngest had 2 small cavities. This was her first visit to the dentist and I'm glad that she has been taking good care of her teeth.

My middle child had the most problems. He had a cavity and he also has an adult tooth that is coming in and the baby tooth isn't getting out of the way quick enough. So he needs to get that fixed. Overall, they are doing great - but there are always ways that they can improve.

Here are a few ways that you can help protect your teeth:

  • Don't wait until you are in pain. Make sure you make your appointment for a check up every 6 months.
  • Brush your teeth twice a day, for at least two minutes each time. Set a timer if you have to!
  • Flossing is so important. I once worked for a dentist that always told his patients that they should at least floss the teeth they wanted to keep.
  • (My kids are going to love this one!) Chew Trident Gum for 20 minutes after eating and drinking. It helps to clean and protect teeth. In fact, 4 out of 5 Dentists surveyed would recommend Trident to their patients. Trident, the first national sugar-free gum in the US, is the leading sugar-free gum brand.

My kids have dental insurance and we can afford to take them to the dentist. But some families don't have the resources available to take their children to the dentist for routine appointments. Trident has donated more than $2,500,000 to help more than two million underserved children get preventative dental care so they can have a healthy smile, an important part of overall health. Trident has supported Oral Health America’s non-profit program Smiles Across America for the past 11 years.

You can help support this awesome cause. During the week of September 20th, for each pack of Trident purchased, Trident will donate 5¢ to Smiles Across America, up to $250,000. Void in AL, MA and SC.

My favorite flavor is Spearmint but my kids love the fruit flavor like Tropical Twist. Just another great reason to keep Trident in my purse! It helps fight cavities!
