I know we have a few more weeks until Halloween but I am so ready to decorate and make some DIY Halloween Door Decorations. Fall is my favorite season and all the fun starts with Halloween.
We get to dress up, have parties, and decorate our house! Last year we lived in an apartment while they were building our house so we didn’t really bother with putting up Halloween decorations.
Now we live in a fun neighborhood and I can’t wait to see all the decorations.
It would be difficult to make you a traceable template since not all doors are the same size and it’s such a large area to decorate but with a tape measure and a pencil you should be able to get the right sized decorations created for your DIY Halloween Door.
DIY Halloween Door Decorations:
- Posterboard of various colors
- Scissors
- Glue Dots/masking tape
- Tape Measure
Instructions:
Measure your door and decide how big the eyes need to be. We divided the within half so that the corner of the eyes would be touching.
Next cut out the colorful part of the eyeball. We used orange because it was really bright against the brown door. You can start out with a rough design and then trim the orange part to fit perfectly on the white piece. Then finish with a small black pupil. Tape all the pieces together.
Next, you can create the mouth. Our monster had a thin, black mouth with two teeth. We cut out a long, skinny, crooked black mouth that was the width of the middle of our door and two white, skinny triangles for the teeth.
We put his horns on the outside of the door, so you will also need to measure the height and width of that area so you can create your horns.
The best part is – he’s a monster so they don’t need to be exactly the same!
Now you are ready to hang your monster! Use some masking tape or even painter’s tape to secure the pieces onto the door frame.
Add the ears on the outside of the door frame to make this monster to appear even bigger.
You are ready to scare up some fun this Halloween!

I love this! DIY decorations are always my favorite. We are going to make a wreath for my mom's door.

This just shows that we don't have to spend a lot of money for Halloween decorations. Your door looks nice! I have bought enough (I think) mini monsters for our family get together this Halloween. The kids would love it for sure.

Super cute idea! We usually go for the fall-ish look rather than the scary look.
