Disneyland Tips for Families – Be Flexible

When planning a Disneyland trip for your family, plan on the unexpected! That’s probably the very best tip I can give you when it comes to Disneyland for families. You just never know what could happen when little kids are involved, right? So allow yourself extra time to do everything, and be okay with possibly leaving the Park for naps or the occasional meltdown.

Remember that you don’t have to hit everything in one day, either. Also, consider traveling during school days rather than during school vacations. For younger kids, missing a couple of school days typically isn’t a huge deal; for older kids, you can usually get school work ahead of time to make up for missed days.

Making family memories is so worth being flexible with travel dates and possibly missing school.

Disneyland Tips for Families – Plan Ahead

There are a lot of ways to plan ahead for your Disneyland vacation; one being to use a reputed travel agency like Get Away Today. They not only have the knowledge to help you make the best choices for your family, but they have an interest-free Layaway Plan and a Peace of Mind Plan. I recently shared about Get Away Today’s spring saving specials, but if you’re not able to travel during the specified dates (now until May 23, 2019, with blackout dates April 14- 22, 2019), you can still take advantage of Disneyland deals!

With the Layaway Plan, you can book now with Get Away Today, and make payments up until five days before travel. With the Peace of Mind Plan from Get Away Today, guests can purchase travel protection that allows for reservation changes* up to 72 hours before hotel check-in without penalty.

It’s an inexpensive way to ensure any fees associated with last-minute changes are waived. It’s a big perk of booking with Get Away Today because you never know when a kiddo will pick up germs from somewhere and get sick, or spread it to other family members!

Disneyland Tips for Families – Download the Disneyland App

The Disneyland App is 100% free, and using it is one of the easiest Disneyland tips for families! Not only can you check wait times for rides with it, but you can also order MaxPasses, check attraction closures and order food from participating vendors in the Disneyland Resort. You can also use the Disneyland App as a guide for the Resort so you know exactly where everything is.

Using the Disneyland App is a huge time saver, which we all know is helpful when traveling with kids! It will help you be flexible with your daily itinerary because you’ll know exactly when showtimes are and you can order food during off-peak times and eat before little tummies get “hangry.”

Disneyland Tips for Families – Stay in Hotels Near Disneyland

Whether you stay at one of Disneyland’s three resort hotels, or others in the Anaheim area, staying in hotels near Disneyland can make or break a Disneyland trip as a family. Staying close to the Disneyland Resort cuts down on travel time, making it easier to get back to the hotel for naps, meals or just to spend an afternoon at the pool for a change of pace.

Also, Get Away Today’s partner hotels near Disneyland offer special perks for their guests like complimentary breakfast, free parking and more. In addition to staying in one of the many hotels near Disneyland, definitely consider room styles when booking.

You may figure you won’t be spending much time in the hotel, but you want to ensure the time you do spend is enjoyable! Trust Get Away Today to recommend partner hotels that are spacious, clean and offer impeccable customer service!

Many of Get Away Today’s partner hotels offer suite-style rooms which make being together in a smaller space much more manageable.

Disneyland Tips for Families – Purchase 3-Day or more Park Hopper Tickets

This Disneyland tip for families is a game changer! Did you know that when you purchase Park Hopper Tickets you’re granted admission to both the Disneyland Resort and Disney California Adventure Park on the same day? The same goes when purchasing a Park Hopper Ticket with Get Away Today.

Plus, with Get Away Today 3-Day or more Park Hopper Tickets include FastPass and one Magic Morning at Disneyland. That means you’ll have access to select areas of Disneyland before the Resort is open to the public! Dates for Magic Morning aren’t set in stone, but you can typically plan for those to be available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

If you chose to stay at a Disneyland Resort hotel, you can also use your 3-Day or more Park Hopper Ticket for Extra Magic Hour, which is early admission to Disneyland Resort or California Adventure every day of your stay! Extra Magic Hour days alternate with Magic Mornings, so they’re usually Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
