I love to bake Christmas Cookies but I make so many that I need to have easy cookie recipes. These homemade cookies have to have simple steps and just a few ingredients! The fewer ingredients – the better! Our baking day really gets us into the holiday spirit!
Here are some tips to get you ready for your day of baking easy Christmas cookies
Make sure you have a few cookie sheets. I have a really big baking sheet and a few smaller ones. It helps you get your cookies in the oven faster when each batch is done cooking.
Always use Parchment paper. This really helps to make sure the cookies don’t get too brown. You want them to be a golden brown. Not a burnt brown. The best part is – it makes clean-up so much easier. I use the parchment paper for 3 batches and then I change it to a new sheet.
Before you go to the store make a list of the ingredients you need to make your favorite Christmas cookie recipes. This free printable list will help you keep track of everything you need.
On the day of baking – it’s a good idea to put the butter on the counter. It’s much easier to have butter at room temperature.
You need a good cookie scoop – you should actually get a few so you don’t have to wash them every time you change the cookie recipe.
Make sure you can find your favorite cookie cutter! My recipe for easy sugar cookies has 8 ingredients but nothing fancy.
When the cookies are done – cool them in a single layer on a wire cooling rack. Then store them in an airtight container.
