Valentine’s Day Cake Balls

Valentine's Day Cake Balls

I love to make fun recipes with my kids. This one is the best because they get to crumble up a perfectly good cake and sprinkles on the finished cake balls!

Valentine's Day Cake Balls

There aren’t many ingredients involved and it tastes delicious! I also love that these are so versatile. You could make them for just about any holiday.  Or make them with your favorite team colors to enjoy while watching the big game!

Valentine Cake Balls

  • 1 Box Vanilla Cake Mix (Plus ingredients on the box)
  • 3/4 cup vanilla icing
  • Package of Vanilla Almond Bark (12 squares)
  • Sprinkles (your favorite colors)
  • Parchment paper

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the cake as directed on the back of the package. Let cool completely. (Overnight works best.)
  2. In a large bowl, crumble the cake. Add 3/4 cup of the vanilla icing and mix well. (You gotta use your hands. It’s messy but it works! ) If it’s too dry add a little more icing.
  3. Form the cake into 1 inch balls. Set it on a cookie sheet and put it in the freezer for about 25 minutes.
  4. Set out a piece of parchment paper in your workspace.
  5. In a large bowl heat half of the almond bark. Drop the cake ball into the vanilla almond bark and swirl with a fork. Lift with the fork and let the excess chocolate fall off. Set it on parchment paper and immediately sprinkle with your favorite sprinkles.
  6. Let them dry for about 20 minutes before you serve them.

This recipe makes about 40 cake balls.

We had some leftover almond bark so we grabbed some pretzels from the pantry and made some white chocolate covered pretzels.
