How To Make The Best Apple Pie
Can you believe I have never made apple pie?! My mom and sister would always bring them to the holiday meals so I never had a reason to make an apple pie. This past weekend we went to an apple orchard and picked apples and fed some ponies. I have a bunch of apples in my house and my son asked me if I would make an apple pie.
I know there are many recipes out there for pie crust but I think the store bought pie crusts are just as good and a lot more affordable than making them. So this pie is pretty easy since you don’t have to worry about making the crust – plus it needs just a few ingredients to make the perfect pie.

I shared it with my neighbor and her exact words were: “Girl, apple pie isn’t even my fav but this is AMAZING!!!? Holy yum!” I even brought another piece over so that her husband could have a piece.

The Best Apple Pie Recipe
- 2 – store bought pie crusts
- 8 cups of apples, chopped (I used a mix of apples but I have heard Golden Delicious is a good option.)
- ¼ cup flour
- ½ cup brown sugar (more if you like it sweeter)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- milk
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 425*. Spray the pie pan and add the bottom layer of the crust to the pan and set aside.

In a large bowl mix the apples, flour, brown sugar, and the cinnamon. Make sure everything is coated well.

Pour the apples into the pie pan and cover with another pie crust. Seal the edges. You can pierce the top or cut out a heart so that the steam can escape from the pie pan while cooking.

Lightly brush the pie crust with some milk.

Bake the pie at 425* for 15 minutes. Lower the heat to 375* and bake for 25-20 minutes longer. You want the apples inside to be bubbling. (That’s why I like a heart so I can see inside.) You may also need to cover the pie after the first 15 minutes with foil to prevent the crust from getting too brown.

Let cool for about 45 minutes and serve. It was perfect by itself but you could top it with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

I have seen gluten free flour in the grocery store. I don't know much about gluten but if you can find that you should be good. (I think butter's gluten free :) )

I just had to pin this recipe! This is really easy, natural, and looks so good that I am making this for Thanksgiving with my pumpkin pies of course! I too would use store bought pie crust. Thanks for sharing!
