Extra Crispy Air Fryer Wings

Sharing is caring!

So far we have Air Fryer steak, Air Fryer pork chops and now we have Extra Crispy Air Fryer Wings! These are all great recipes to include in the keto diet. I will soon have air fryer burgers.

I love air fryer recipes because they make things taste extra crispy without all the extra fat and calories. It’s like deep frying but better!

These crispy wings were so good! I love that there’s no grease splattering around and I don’t have to worry about flipping them constantly.

They are nice and crispy and you can change up the sauce you use. I really love buffalo sauce and parmesan garlic butter sauce!

We love chicken wings and have tried to cook them in many different ways. I have made chicken wings in the instant pot but they come out too mushy.

So for us to be able to enjoy the crispiest wings at home is important! We have 2 air fryers, so we make some air fryer french fries or tater tots to go with the best air fryer chicken wings recipe

I love this wing recipe because it’s so easy to get low-carb chicken wings on the table quickly for dinner! I love the crispy skin and sometimes I add a dash of hot sauce to the wings. But they are really good just plain and crispy!

The air fryer is the best way to cook them. You won’t get as many wings as you get when you make them on a baking sheet in a traditional oven – but I think they come out better. It’s worth it to make a double batch in the air fryer.

Air frying is the best way to get extra crispy skin without deep frying the wings. I like to add some buffalo and garlic parmesan sauce – this makes the best wings!

The air fryer is so much better than a deep fryer! It’s healthier and you get that crispy chicken skin without a mess! The cooking process is pretty amazing! It just moves around the hot air to make this a ketogenic diet-friendly recipe.

Add some hot sauce to a small bowl and add the wings to make them hot wings. We love Frank’s red hot sauce.

Or mix a little butter with the hot sauce to make air fryer buffalo wings.

Dip them in Ranch dressing – or have it on the side with some celery and blue cheese dressing.

Add a little onion powder with the salt and garlic powder.

Cover them in BBQ Sauce

Instructions for Extra Crispy Chicken Wings:

 1. Cut the whole wings into 3 parts – the wing the drumette and discard the end part. Pat dry wings with a paper towel.
 2. Add all the chicken wings to a large bowl and lightly coat the wings with a little oil – about 1 Tablespoon of olive oil.
 3. Sprinkle with salt and garlic powder.
 4. Place chicken wings into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 400 degrees f for 14 minutes. Shake them around after 7 minutes to flip them. (You may have to do this in 2-3 batches depending on the size of your air fryer.)
 5. When the first batch of cooked wings is done, set aside and bake the second batch. (You can place them on a plate with a paper towel and set them in your oven to help them stay warm.)
 6. When both batches are done throw them all back for 2 minutes at 400 to add a little heat back to the already cooked wings.
 7. Put them into a bowl and coat them with buffalo sauce – or just eat these extra crispy wings plain!

The cooking time will vary based on how big your wings are and the type of air fryer you own, so check them with a meat thermometer. The temperature should be 165 °F.

We serve these crispy air fryer wings with broccoli tots and coleslaw. Also serve with some carrots, celery sticks, and ranch dipping sauce. (My favorite is Lite House Ranch.)
