Sweet Potato Fries In Air Fryer Recipe

Are you looking for the best recipe for Sweet Potato Fries In Air Fryer? This is it! It’s so easy and you will love the marshmallow dipping sauce you can make with it.

Air fryer sweet potato fries are so easy to make! With just a few ingredients, you will have delicious sweet potato fries! This recipe includes a marshmallow dipping sauce – it will become your favorite dipping sauce!

It’s so much better to make fresh fries instead of frozen fries! It’s just a few minutes of prep and you can make this simple recipe. Make it with or without the dipping sauce.

I love crispy fries (tater tots, thin fries, waffle fries, etc), but it gets boring! When you make small changes like using sweet potatoes instead of regular potatoes and using the air fryer instead of deep frying the potatoes, you still get healthy fries – they are the perfect side dish.

Air frying is my favorite way to cook things. It uses less oil and usually faster cooking time to make things crispy and delicious! This recipe for crispy sweet potato fries is more sweet fries than savory. These sweet potato fries are so good with the marshmallow dipping sauce.

The air fryer makes it so much easier because you don’t have to make the french fries in the oven and heat up the whole house. Nor do you have to waste a few cups of vegetable oil to deep fry regular fries to make the healthy side dish.

Sweet Potato Fries with Marshmallow Cream Dipping Sauce

Ingredients for homemade sweet potato fries:

  • 3 medium to large sweet potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar

Directions to make sweet potato air fryer fries:

Preheat the air fryer to 350F.

Peel the sweet potatoes. On a cutting board, cut them into ¼-inch thick strips. Rinse the fries well with cold water, then lay them out on a clean kitchen towel and pat dry with another towel. (You can also use a paper towel.)

In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato fries with the melted butter, salt, and cinnamon.

Spray the inside of the air fryer with non-stick cooking spray. Place fries into the air fryer basket and arrange into roughly one single layer (You may need to air fryer in two batches for smaller air fryers).

Cook Time: Air fry the sweet potato fries at 350 degrees F for 7 minutes. Give the air fryer basket a little shake, then air fry for an additional 5-7 minutes until the fries are cooked through and are golden brown.

Remove the fries from the air fryer and sprinkle with brown sugar.

Serve warm.

Marshmallow Sauce:

  • 1/2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream

Directions:

Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the marshmallows to the pan and stir to coat in the butter. Cook the marshmallows over medium heat until they begin to melt, constantly stirring to prevent burning.

Add the heavy whipping cream and continue stirring until the marshmallows are fully melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.

Remove the sauce from the heat and cool slightly before serving.

Makes 4 servings

If you have any leftovers, store the leftover fries in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

Notes:

  • The marshmallow cream sauce will solidify when fully cooled. It can be reheated in the microwave in 20 second cooking intervals in a skillet over medium heat (stirring very often).
  • If you have a small or medium size air fryer, you may need to cook these delicious fries in small batches. For larger air fryers only one cooking batch will be needed.
  • Some of the fries can overlap in the airfryer – just don’t pile them into a big pile.
  • If you want thicker fries, you can make sweet potato wedges, cut them thicker and increase the baking time by 2-3 minutes.

I hope you love these homemade fries! It’s the perfect easy side dish that can go with any dinner. Grab all the ingredients the next time you go to the grocery store.

Looking for a new air fryer, click on my affiliate links below for my favorite Air Fryers:

  • I have this Zavor air fryer. It’s the best air fryer, but they no longer sell it! I like it because it has 2 layers and I can do more than just air fry in it. It’s a personal preference – but there are other options.
  • This Ninja Air Fryer oven is a great option too.
  • I have also had this Power XL Air Fryer and it’s great for a family.
