What is Hawaiian Chicken + Variations

  • It is a tangy and sweet meal that is made with pineapple juice (and chunks), chicken meat – thighs or breast, brown sugar, and soy. In addition, you can add vegetables like red bell peppers or green bell peppers, or diced yellow onions.
  • It’s a gluten-free and dairy-free meal.
  • You could also use pork instead of chicken for this meal.
  • If you would like to make this meal a little spicy you could add a little cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes. Or chop up some jalapeno peppers and add them to the crock pot with all the other ingredients.

How to serve Crock Pot Hawaiian Chicken:

  • There are a few ways we like to enjoy this meal and some of the easiest side items are white rice or brown rice. Make sure you add some of the yummy Hawaiian sauce over the rice. Sprinkle with some green onions to add additional flavor.
  • When we don’t eat it with rice – we love it over mashed potatoes. It’s really a delicious combination!
  • Use the Hawaiian chicken meat to make a sandwich. Serve these at parties or it’s a great way to use the leftovers for a new meal with a side of mac & cheese or potato salad!
  • Enjoy it with a green vegetable like green beans or steamed broccoli.
  • Serve it with your favorite side salad.
