Leftover Halloween Candy Cookie Recipes

Sharing is caring!

Halloween is just around the corner and that means lots of Halloween Candy.  You can only eat so much candy without trying to find ways to use it up.

A few years ago I made Candy Bar Brownies and Peanut Butter Cup Brownies and now I have another recipe for you to use up some of your favorite candy. This is also great for a Halloween Party.

My favorite candies are Milky Way bars and Kit Kats – so I never have any of those available to add to my desserts! We also love Reese’s peanut butter cups! We always have a ton of candy when you have 3 kids trick-or-treating on Halloween night! We have so much fun.

When my kids get home we add all the candy to a large bowl that we snack on for a few days. We usually enjoy the best candy and then add the leftover Halloween candies to a variety of yummy cookies. This leftover Halloween candy recipe is the perfect way to use up your favorite leftover Halloween candy!

Other chopped candy you can add to your leftover Halloween cookie recipe:

  • Hershey Bars – these are the best chocolate bars!
  • Almond Joys
  • Heath Bars
  • Reese’s cups – they have so many different kinds of flavors and shapes now!
  • gummy worms – not for me but maybe the kids would like them
  • M&Ms – you can make lots of different cookies with these flavors too – chocolate, peanut butter, caramel, and more!

Check out my chocolate chip cookie recipe. You could omit the chocolate chips and use them as the base for a Halloween version of cookies. This recipe will make chewy cookies and there is no chill time.

I like this recipe for a cookie cake because it’s much faster than making cookie balls. You can also make leftover Halloween candy cookies by cutting the premade cookie dough balls into a single layer and baking them.

Cool them on a wire rack and decorate them with icing and your favorite kind of candy. If you are making smaller cookies – use small pieces of candy. Be prepared for a sugar rush because these leftover candy cookies are full of sweetness!

Halloween Cookie Cake - Use Up Your Halloween Candy!

I really love this recipe because you don’t need to make the cookie dough from scratch. You don’t have to drag our large bowls and mix the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients. You just line a pizza pan or cookie sheet with parchment paper and bake the cookies!

This recipe is so easy because you can use all store-bought ingredients. Or you can make your own sugar cookie dough and icing. You can even change up the colors of the icing.

You can change up the candy pieces to make this the best giant cookie! Just add the dough to the baking sheet and top it with your favorite candy bars.

Halloween Cookie Cake (Best Way To Use Up Halloween Candy)

  • Roll of Sugar Cookie Dough (or make your own)
  • 1 container of white icing
  • Food Coloring (Neon green and orange is perfect)
  • Your favorite candy bits

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350*.

Spread the cookie dough on a circular pan (like a pizza pan). Make sure you line it with parchment paper (NOT wax paper) so the dough doesn’t fall through the holes in the pan. Or just use a regular cookie sheet.

Bake for about 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.

Let the cookie cake cool completely before adding the icing. (See below for a great way to decorate the cookie with icing.)

Top with tons of candy and enjoy!

Grab 2 bowls and put 3/4 of the icing in one small bowl and the rest in another bowl. Add the green food coloring to the bowl with more icing. Then color the icing in the smaller bowl orange. (Mine was more of an apricot color.)

Take a plastic sandwich bag and put it inside a small cup securing the bag over the sides of the bag. Add the orange icing to the bag and set aside.

Add the green icing to the sugar cookie. Then sprinkle it with your favorite candy.

Snip the corner of the plastic bag and pipe the icing over the cookie cake. Get creative and make it look like a spider web or just make a zigzag pattern.

This great recipe is so simple and customizable – so have fun with it! I’m sure you will have so much Halloween candy – you need a way to use it up! When your kids bring home bags of candy – pull out this recipe and you can surprise your whole family with a fun treat.

Store leftover cookies in an airtight container.
